Thought I was going to have a happy update today, but the cubs have ruined it for me. They were leading 8 -0 in the 3rd inning and now its 10 -9 White Sox. Its making me sick listening to this damn game, but yet I still have it on the radio. Guess I like torture or something. But hey, Ive been a cubs fan since as long as I can remember, so I guess I am just used to it.
I leave you with this ...actually never mind, dont really have a profound statement except this...damn cubs!

World Cup Report: As expected, the favored Brazilians are going to be playing the Germans in the World Cup Finals. Should be a great game. If I was a betting man I would be putting my money on the Brazilians. And thats even if they sport there blue unis instead of the traditional yellow and green ones.

Sitting here listening to Pat and Ron do the cubs game. Ron Santo has to be one of the most unintentional comedy broadcasters, well that of course is after Harry. Every inning it seems like the cubs are coming back and every time someone strikes out and kills the rally. After this happens you can hear in the background this gasp or grunt from Ronny. Its like every time something like that happens its killing him inside. I dont think anyone dies more with every loss than Santo. But then again when they get a big win or a homerun to take the lead, it brings back like 5 years for him. Sounds like a little girl screamin and hollering. Pretty funny, if I was watchn the game at home I would probably turn down the volume of the TV and turn on WGN on the radio, like we used to do with the Bears back in the 80s. I never really understood that whole thing until a couple years ago, for some reason the radio call of the game is so much better than the TV call. Thats of course besides Joe Carter now that is pure unintentional comedy at its highest! Could you imagine Harry and Joe Carter doin a game together, they wouldnt make it out of the 1st inning. Listeners would be so lost they would have to stop the game just to get everything straight. Joe would be talkn about how he hit a game winning homerun in the 7th game of the World Series, and Harry would be tryn to say Carter backwards, one of Harrys trademark rambling. On the same track, tonite is the NBA draft. I think its on TNT so hopefully Charles will be doing the draft, if not it will definitely lose some of the affect early. Joining Charles hopefully will be Kenny The Jet Smith, Hubbie Brown, Craig Seager and some other white dude but cant think of his name now. Craig will more than likely be sporting some pimp suit like the one he wore two years ago to the all-star game. Charles actually made this statement that night, "I believe in hiring different people, we can hire black, brown, white, purple or yellow but when did we start hiring pimps?" Pure high comedy!

Besides the cubs game entertainment, Ive actually been busy since Im running the whole show for this week and next. Better get that damn promotion! Speaking of that better get back to work later

World Cup Report: Kinda lost interest this weekend after the U.S. lost. I dont think there were any games played besides the ones on Friday. The only thing I heard this weekend about the "Cup" was about how the Cameroon coach, who is also a coach of one of the club teams, cut a player that was on his club team and also on the S. Korean team. I guess he scored the goal that knocked out the Carmeroons. Damn that is high comedy! Good ol' coach probably said "ok F this guy, he gonna mess with me, well lets see what he's gonna do now!" Sounds like a bad ass coach to me. The player will more than likely have other club teams knockn' his door down trying to sign him, so I dont think he has anything to worry about.

Warm ass weekend! I think that sums it up best. 3 days of plus 90 degrees. Friday played in my v-ball playoffs. It looked good from the begining, 4 showed from my team and only 3 from the other team. Sweet, they have to forfeit, have to have at least 4 to have a team. So we tell the guy who runs it we are taking the forfeit into the championship game. Well after that we try to get everyone else into a pick up game... the 3 guys who were supposed to be playing started crying that we should give them a chance. So we did... wrong move, end up losing. I get all pissed off... do the after game handshake and instead of handshaking I walk by them and utter some obsenities. Not a very proud moment of mine but if they weren't cryn' we would of been still playn'. Oh well, better off for me anyway, ended up meeting Ken and some of his buddies at a south burbs bar for some drinks. Saturday doubleheader softball, ended up splitting them. Had some competitive agression come out again. Quick run-down. Some guy takes adavantage of our outfield and switch hits. Ends up losing by one run, post game handshake, no handshake for switch hitter. He begins yelling at me saying that is bad sportsmanship. I turn around and say the same thing about how he switch hit just to take advantage of our girl outfielder. After a couple minutes of back and forth I wlak away. 2 minutes later I walk up to him and apologize. Damn what is my problem... got too much aggression built up.
Saturday night my sister had a party at her place. Good turn out, guess there were like 40 or so people all together. Rolled there with a couple of my own for support. After a couple hours decided to head to my place. Stop off at the Dominicks by Cabrini Green, let me just add it was about 12:30. Must have been drunk. One register open so took like 20 minutes to check out. Cant even explain the high unintentional comedy here. Sunday hibernated in my AC. Al calls me and ask if I want to head to the beach, gotta take a pass... had enough sun on saturday morning. Added some pics from saturday night on the 2K2 Pics page.

By now I'm sure everyone has heard about Darryl Kile. Terrible thing, 33 yr old athlete passing away from a clogged artery. Wow, you think athletes are in such great condition. Just makes you think about yourself. These are guys who are out there everyday running and lifting and they still have this shit to worry about. Well I give my respects to his family and teamates. He will always be remeber in the baseball family as a great man and athlete.

World Cup Report: Well the luck finally ran out for the U.S. After squeking into the last round the U.S. couldnt score to save themselves this morning. Losing 1-0 to Germany, the U.S. come home after making it a lot farther than a lot of people. Some web-sites didnt even have the U.S. on the board for winning the whole thing, not like that was going to happen, but just to make it this far was pretty damn good. It would be like the cubs making the world series and then losing.

90 plus degrees today damn I knew this shit was going to happen. Last week we wearn pants and long sleeves, this week we got the AC blasting. Glad I moved my bed earlier this week. Only have one bedroom w/an AC unit so Tuesday decided it would be a good idea to move my bed since the room was completely empty. So now I got one bedroom for my clothes and computer and the other has my bed and night stand. Liking this whole living alone in a two bedroom apartment thing. Think its supposed to be warm all week, so it should be an interesting day of softball tomorrow, just hope we playn near the water fountain again or Im gonna be passn out. Pissed off at the damn cubs this week, after winning 2 out of 3 from the lowly white sox, the Rangers comen to town, one of the worst teams in baseball need I say more. They lose 2 out of 3. Only good thing, Raphael Palmeiro, ex-cubbie and current 1st baseman on my fantasy team, hits 3 dingers. Guess that Viagra is helping his swing. For those who havent seen the commercial Hes a spokesman for Viagra. Goes something like this. Camera shows him batting. "I take batting practice" camera shows him fielding a couple grounders, "I take fielding practice" close up of his old ass, "I take Viagra." Who the F cares????

Thats about it for now, got this lame bring your child to work day at work today, what about people that dont have kids. Isnt this discrimination? Shouldnt we be able to bring someone else, like rent a kid or something?

Have a good weekend everyone
later

World Cup Report: Korea wins on a header in double OT. Damn I bet they were tired as hell after playing that long. Big game friday morning as the US plays to make it into the final four... go USA!

Not sure if everyone has seen this yet, but that pic is of Geoff Jenkins of the Milwaukee Brewers. During last nights game while trying to get back into third base he got his foot caught on the bag and rolled over his ankle. Now this happens alot but most times its just a minor sprain. But this time it stayed like that. He was on his back screaming in pain as he held up his foot with his ankle at a 90 degree angle. Not good times. And the sad thing was, one of the announcers kept saying, "wow I think he might of twisted his knee. He seems to be in a little bit of pain." A little bit of pain? My ass, they needed to knock his ass out to get rid of the pain. There is nothing to do for someone like that, it was painfull for his teamates to be there. After showing the replay only twice they never played it again, I applaud espn for that. Sometimes they keep replaying that shit, like we need to see it or soemthing. Guess its just a couple torn ligaments but other than that nothing that a little surgery and rehab wont fix. I wouldnt look for him in the line-up anytime soon.
Went out to lunch yesterday to some mexican restaurant, ordered a nice fat burrito and sat there and waited... and waited... and waited. After about 35 minutes we decide finally to say something. The manager walks over and says, oh really well let me check. Comes abck 2 minutes later, yeah you have been waiting over 30 minutes, well give you one of the burritos free. Whoop-d-freakn-doo! So after we get our food, we ask for the check... no free food on the check. As we finish we are waiting for the waitress to come by... no where in site. Look at tyhe bill again and see its about 18 bucks for 2 burritos. Leave a 10 in the bill holder and take off. Hopefully she realizes why we only left a ten spot, if not, I guess we won't be eating there again anytime soon.
Thats the big stories of the week, nothing too exciting.
Damn all this burrito talk is gettn' me hungry...

World Cup Report: U S A! U S A! U S A! That is the chant that could be heard at 3:30 this morning as the US were dominating our neighbors to the south. With a big 2-0 win they advance to the Elite 8. Very NIce!

Had a pretty good weekend and of course busy! Got a good phonecall saturday morning at about 7:45. Yes I know it was early but it was a call that said no softball. Normally I would of been pissed but this past saturday was kinda busy. Had my sisters dance recital to go to, no not that one, my younger sister. Its kinda funny because she has had this transformation from a 12 yr old that liked O-Town to a 12 yr old that plays the drums and listens to Blink 182. And this all happened in about 2 months. To add to that she is still taking dance lessons, which includes ballot and tap. So she goes from wearing baggy clothes and a baseball cap to a leotard. Pretty well rounded 12 yr old if you ask me. Had a decent time at the recital, it was only about 90 minutes so you cant really argue with that. Afterwards ended up goin by my dad's for a fathers day/birthday dinner type thing. Evening festivities consisted of goin out with Ken to some sw burb bars. Drove to one and found out it was closed so came back to his area and went to this bar that has over 400 different kinds of bars. If you ever get a chance try a "Old Speckled Hen". Very nice beer, and kinda strong.
Sunday played some gold with step-bros and step-dad and mom and sister. Proud to say that I had the best score out of the 8. Shot a 39. Pretty good for me, actually birdied a par 4. First time doin that. Had some high comedy during the round, first off my younger step-bro Tim decided in celebration of fathers day to dress like a "typical" father golfing. Pulled out some nut hugger white shorts and a pink button down shirt with a long pair of tube socks and white golf shoes. We do have a pic so I will post when I get a copy. The only bad thing about golfing on fathers day is... its crowded as hell! Waited 45 to tee off, and we had a tee time! A low point of the afternoon, Tim nails my mom in the chest with a tee shot. Not good times. Guess they were a little ahead of where he was teeing off and he hooked one right at my mom. Guess she is ok, no real serious injuries that she knows of. Could of been alot worse if it was a foot higher. After that headed back to my moms for a little family gathering and then a nice evening back in Evanston.
Good weekend overall except for the golf ball in the chest.
Oh yeah almost forgot... Cubs win 2 out of 3 from the hated white sox. SWEET!

World Cup Report: Ah yes, the second round we make it to! And do it the American way, let someone else do the hard work while we lose to Poland. So many jokes here but since I am Polish I am very proud of the showing the home land had this early morning. After being shut out in the previous matches Poland whooped up on the sorry ass Americans 3-1. Scoring 3 goals in a soccer match is like scoring 10 runs in a baseball game or having a 30 point lead in the 4th quarter in baseketball or football. No the Pol's arent advacing but they showed some heart. Watched some of the game while getting ready for work and they played like no team, except for Brazil, has played this year. Good job guys, I raise my Polish Sausage to you... oh wait that didnt come out right... As far as the other games go... who really cares... Poland won and U.S. is in the 2nd round.

Onto the regualrly scheduled update...
Just some random thoughts before the weekend starts.

- Got my new camera today... yes the same one I had two weeks ago but returned but saved like 75 bucks this time.

- Cubs/White Sox series starts in 8 minutes. Do we really care... hell yeah... its the Chicago World Series we will never see.

- Lakers won a title this past wednesday... who noticed.

- On the same line... Detroit won the cup... who cares. Guess its like the old saying, if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it, does it make a noise? If detroit or the lakers win another title and no one is watching does it really count?

- "Ten years ago on a cold dark night, someone was killed beneath the town hall light"

- The backyard griller is actually pretty good.

- Poland +375... how could you not put a buck on them?

- One single man living in a two bedroom apartment paying half the rent. Not too shabby if you ask me.

- "Two trailer park girls go 'round me outside 'round me outside, two trailer park girls go 'round me outside 'round me outside" What the hell does that mean? Did I miss something?

- To have "tendencies" is not always a bad thing, unless you cannot control them.

- Can you name your child a brand name without having to pay that corporation a fee?

- Can a sprained/jammed wrist last 2 weeks?

- It was good while it lasted but it could be better later.

- Happy Fathers Day! Just glad I'm not one reaping the benifits from this day... yet...

- "How blue can you get, you can ask my heart..."

Ok enough confusion for one day. Have a great weekend and go cubbies!!!!!!!

World Cup Report... Brazil opens a whole can on Costa Rica 2-5 and eliminates them, Turkey slams the door on China 3-0 and advance to the sweet 16, Ecuador wins a nailbiter against the Croation Sensations 1-0 which send them home after the loss and the battle between Burrittos and Lasagna ends in a 1-1 tie with both teams advancing to the 2nd round.

Side note from a couple days ago at "The Cup"... anyone see the South Koreans celebrate after they scored againt the US. Pullin some speed skating crap in the corner. Guess it was a slam againt the US from the olympics. Damn those South Koreans dont forget shit do they.

Now onto our regularly scheduled update.

Tuesday planned once agin to go to the always slammn' Dolla Theatre to go see "The Royal Tananbaums". But once again, decide against it. Instead roll over to Ikea to get some hangers. Yeah seems kinda lame but when you only like 10 minutes away it aint a big deal, and the hangers are pretty good ones. There the wood ones like they have at Banana and the Gap. The name Ikea used to have a different meaning to me when people would say it. Like most people, when you say "Ikea", first thing you think of is some big ass store. Well not me anymore, one of my friends has a cat named Ikea... so now when someone says, "hey you wanna go stop at Ikea?" it has a totally different meaning... ok now that I have totally confused everyone.

That same evening I was on my way back to Evanston while on the cell talkn to the Ikea owner and received another call. Looked at the caller ID and noticed it was just Al, figured what the hell he want, just left his place. Well I'll let him just leave a voicemail if it important. Get off the phone and check the voice mail. Now for Al to call after 9 it gotta be one of two things. Either there is a documentary on Vegas or some other casino or a poker tournament is on ESPN 2. Check the message, and yep... "dude check out espn 2, they got a texas hold 'em tourny on!"

Sure nuf, last table 3 guys left. 1st base got some dude with like 2 stacks of high society left and not looking good... sweatin all over the place. 2nd base you got your token white dude in the finals just hopn' to out play everyone before he gets outbluffed. For some reason white dudes always get taken by the Asian or Mexican. And as expected 3rd base you got the token Mexican who dont speak english and is listening to his headphones and singing... outloud. I woulda cracked this guy after 2 minutes of "La Bamba". After 1st base gets taken, its down to the token whitey and mexican. A few hands go by nothn too exciting, cool thing though is they show you what the two guys have. Finally the last hand comes... dealer deals out 2 to each guy and lets them bet. Mexically puts in about 125 grand. Which in this game aint alot. Whitey checks. Dealer flips 3 on the table. Whitey checks and Mexically starts walking around singing... comes back to the table and calls all in! The next 5 minutes are just pure high intentional comedy. Mexically is now walking around and talkn' to the crowd, letting them listen to his headphones and just singing at the top of his lungs. No way would I of been able to deal with this shit. And I know how he feels, cause when we played on saturday night there was some dude belting out 80's hits... finally whitey calls and its all up to the next two flop cards. Mexically comes back to the table finally and flips up whiteys cards... what the f? Whitey gives him the "no one better touch my crads" look and then gets up. Dealer flips up two non helping cards and Mexically walks away with a half a mill and a gold gaudy jewelry.... NICE!

What a way to spend your tuesday evening!

6/10/2K2
World Cup report... US has a draw with South Korea 1-1. The always feared Tunisia play to a 1-1 draw with Belgium. Pauleta scores a hat trick for Portugal to shut down the usually dominating Poland team.
Had a very busy and semi-productive weekend. Started off saturday witha double-header in Grant Park, lost both games but a had a good individual performance... thats what counts right? Pretty much overheated during the second game, damn I think we aren't used to this hot weather or something, it was only like 85 out and it felt like it was 100 degrees out there. Made a showing at my cousins graduation party, once again, hot as all hell out... damn tables set up in the garage to eat, 85 out... no air movement... yeah good idea there! Went to Al's for the big Tyson/Lewis fight. Actually was a good fight, to me. Won a easy bet from one of the many Tyson supporters in the group.

Some highlights from "Fight Night"

- Took me about 20 minutes of starring at the damn Tyson/Lewis logo to realize that they had "IS ON" in red in there names. So I guess they were tryn' to let everyone know the fight was going to happen or something, kinda lame if you ask me.

- 1st undercard, lasted I think about 8 rounds. Nothiing too exciting really, that I can rememeber. We semi-watched it just because Al didnt want to change the channel because he thought we might lose the channel.

- 2nd undercard, some 33 yr old vs. a 23 yr old. Need I say more. The 23 yr old came in with "Eye of the Tiger". Damn can you do that? He won so he was lucky.

- Pre-fight hype... they were talkn' about how all week they have been tryn' to keep the fighters seperated during weigh-ins and other crap like that.

- Interview with the ref... guy is like 6'7" and like 260. Guess they wanted to make sure they had someone who could break up a ruccus or something.

- Ref mentions about how he was going to stop the fight if he saw anyone, meaning Tyson, drop his mouth piece... nice!

- Finally time for introductions, they show the ring and they have the ring seperated in half with security guards down the midle so neither fighter could start shit before the fight. Good idea I gues, just more damn hype if you ask me.

- Tyson tries to come into the ring with his whole onturage(spelling?) but security only letting 6 people per corner.

- Finally the fight starts... Tyson looks pretty sharp, wins the frst round by landing what I believe is the only good punch.

- All the damn Tyson supporters at the gathering are getting all excited cause tyson is looking solid.

- Changes really quick as the 2nd round starts. Lewis is controlling Tyson with his 12" reach advantage. No way can anyone overcome that.

- Next 6 rounds are pretty much the same, Lewis toying with Tyson, hitting him enough but not too much to leave himself open.

- 8th round Tyson goes down hard. Looks up like he just woke up and puts his head back down. Damn I have never seen Tyson looked so bad. His face had blood coming from every orifice.

Overall I think it was a decent fight, especially if you had money on Lewis.

Give the fight a 8 out 10 just because it lasted longer than I think Tysons last 10 fights. Good money spent I guess.

Sunday played only 1 out of 2 of our games cause we had to forfeit the 1st one cause some lazy ass couldnt get ti the field by 9. Pissed me off! Played some golf later, did pretty good I must add. After that headed back home and just crashed while finishing watching Harry Potter. Pretty good movie but I would suggest reading the book first. Not everything was in the movie so I think its better to get the whole story before you see it.
So busy weekend coem and gone, so I am back to Aon to get some rest and try and stay cool. I think summer is finally upon us!

6/7/2K2
A quick World Cup report... Sweden beat Nigeria 2-1, no surprise there. Spain puts a whoopn' on Paraguay 3-1. England is handling Argentia 1-0 in the 74th minute(to all those that dont understand the 74th minute, that means 16 minutes left in the second half).
Now to our regular update... Went and saw Star Wars finally last night. Found a good time to go to the show where there is basically no one there, evening on a Thursday. I think there were about 7 others in the whole show...NICE! Was very pleased with the movie overall. I just wanted to see Yoda fight. Thats all people were talking about, and now I know why. When the fight starts he gets this look like, you have no idea what is about to happen to you. Then for a minute I thought he was going to break out the crane or the tiger claw. But just decied to bust out the light saber. Man was goin' nutso! Flippn' and jumpn' left and right... looked like a little bug on speed. They better have a bigger fight scene with him in the 3rd episode. I think that fight scene is almost as good as one in Matrix. I was just glad the fight lived up to all the hype unlike in the first one where everyone wanted to see Darth Maul... sucked ass! The rest of the movie was pretty good too. Its finally starting to put all the pieces together. Got a little love story with Anikan and Natalie Portman... damn she is HOT! After enjoying episode 2, here is what I am looking forward to in episode 3.

- More fighting for Yoda.

- A nice love scene with Natalie Portman(know it aint gonna happen, but you never know) {side note: I think she has taken the place of Nelly Furtado on the top of my hot list}

- Anikan getting the black suit and the huge ass Darth Vader mask.

- Darth Vader mackn' on Natalie Portman... you think they gonna do it before he gets the suit on or after... I think that deep voice is what is going to get her in bed.

- More kick ass graphics! I was watching the 2nd episode and just thinking what the first ones looked like before they redid them. Not even close.

- Natalie Portman in some more hot outfits... damn I think just Natalie Portman period. You know how bad that would suck if they used someone else for episode 3.

Ok well I guess I am not looking forward to too much more than Natalie so I guess I will stop now.

Not a whole hell of a lot else goin on here. Pretty busy weekend ahead. Got 2 doubleheaders in softball and then going to watch the fight saturday night between Psycho and Lewis. Right now the line is -200 for Lewis. I wanna bet that the fight won't even happen. If it does, it should be a good one. My prediction, Lewis in 6. Might even go the distance, but dont rememebr Tyson fight lasting that long.

Have a good weekend. Later

6/5/2K2

Was just re-reading my stuff from yesterday... damn I can just ramble about nothing.

Anyway, anyone catch the score from the world cup today? USA pulled off a huge upset. But more than 75% of America probably doesn't even know it is going on. Pretty sad if you ask me. I still don't understand why its not that popular here. Guess because its not as exciting as basketball or football. I think its more exciting to watch then baseball but thats just me.

Went out ot Grand Victoria last night with some people from work... started out really bad. Played roulette, used my theroy of boxing the bottom 12 numbers. And the only reason I sat at this particular table is because they were hittn' high numbers. Well that all changed when I sat down. I hit a couple corners which was just keeping me in the game. On my last spin hit a big one. And the only reason I hit is because I changed to the middle 12. Number 20 hit... payed off $145! NICE! Back in the game. Had all 4 corners hit on it plus 3 chips straighT up on it. And the only reason I had 3 chips straight up was because I thought I had put them on 17(my b-day) but couldnt see the numbers because this guy next to me was playn' 29 out of the 36 numbers and was stackn' chips like crazy. He kept gettn' payed but not sure if he ever was up. After winning a couple more small spins decided to take my winnings. Ended up leaving the table up 50. Which is pretty good considering I was donw to my last 10 bucks on the last spin. After we left for some reason I wanted to pull one of those police chase/movie moves in my car. If anyone has ever been to GV they know the hill I am talkn about. Hit it pretty hard... no noticeable damage but learned not to do it again.

Now this is were I would normally comment on the cubs... but they are just makn' me sick right now. So I guess I'll be like the 2% of America and root for the USA in the world cup. GO USA!!!!!!

6/4/2K2

Well finally have some time to update from this past weekend. First of all it even started bad before we even left. Original idea was to leave at 11. 11:30 I get a call from Ken saying he just talked to Kevin and he is leaving work. No big deal though 'cause I was meeting everyone at Ren's. So we just waited and played some PS2. After the ritual of Kevin forgetting the cabin keys and having to go back to his place, finally made it on the expressway about 2:30. Still not bad because we missed most of the traffic. Pretty uneventfull drive up there, besides Ren trying to get som epics of some ladies in other cars. Made it up there in about 3 hours... not too bad. Grabbed some beer and some food and headed down to the lake to check out the view. After a few beers and some shots called a cab and headed to one of the newer bars "Marleys". Jamaican style bar with tvs and a dance floor. Not too bad, but not really happening when we got there... got a table though so that is always a plus. After a few drinks there headed across the street to "Brothers In Laws". One of the places we always head to. Nice dance club/bar. KInda slow night there also, didnt get busy till about 1 or so. During this time somehow we were talkn' to these girls from Madison. One of the girls(pictured in the yellow tank top) had some serious problems. Think she was on speed or something. Girl wouldnt settle the F down. She kept movn' around and just couldnt sit still. Did a little dancn' and basically just sat back and did some people watchn'. Damn some of those people up there just come as they are to the bars. When we go up there we always standing out 'cause we probably the best dressed. One year there was this guy in jean shorts and hot pink tank top! Yeah, I don't think he wa spickn' up any that night... well maybe, but don't think it's that type of bar. After getting our fill of drinks in we headed back to the cabin. For some reason we decided to take a little trip to the cabins across the street at this resort/golf course. After realizing it was pretty dead Ken and I broke off from Ren and Kevin. Not exactly sure why but next thing I know we were on the golf course. And of course, since I was on a golf course with no one around... I had to feed my habit (If you dont know what that is then you dont know me as well as you thought). Ken and I made it back first to the cabin so we decided to get the bonfire going. After about 5 minutes of looking for a lighter or matches I came up with the idea to start it on the electric stove. Yes it actually works... so Ken makes this torch like thing from newspaper and a cardboard roll from wrapping paper. Finally light it and ken starts his run from the cabin down to the water front... while chanting the olympic song... or Rocky cant remember. The other two finally make it back. Guess they pretty much took a whole tour of the area... but no arrests so that was a positive.

Next morning was the first oen up so played a little nintendo... no not Nintendo 64 or game cube, original nintendo. Busted out a little Contra. Damn that game is so easy after getting 30 guys... up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A select, start. If you dont know that, then you havent played enough nintendo.

Pretty much an all-day affair on the nintendo saturday. Only time I think I wasn't playing it or watchn' someone play was when we took a trip to KFC and when Ren and I went to Ho-Chunk, which wasn't too bad. We decided after loosing at blackjack to play some nickle video poker. Got back and Kevin was still playing Nintendo. It was pretty sad, we didn't even make our traditional trip to the strip to check out the local t-shirt shops. Which is always good for about 30 minutes of non-stop unintentional comedy.

Saturday night went out a little later... due to the fact we were playn' nintendo and couldnt stop. Ended up back at Marleys after trying out a new bar. Drank a little there and just headed back to kevins cabin... crashed kinda early... 3:30 due to the fact I had to get up at 7:30 to drive home for the cubs game.

Story of the weekend

After I passed out guess Ren crashed also, so Kevin and Ken decided to attempt what has been tried many times... take the raft to the other side of the lake. They loaded up the raft w/some beer and headed out. Made it to the other side without any problems so they started the trip back. Ken said the raft wasn't moving quick enough for them so they decided to swim and pull the raft behind them. Not exactly sure why they did this but did. Now to get a good understanding of this... the lake from Kevins side to across is about 400 yards. They did have the fire going so they knew which way to head. But I guess it started dying out so as they made there way back they couldnt figure out which way to go. Kevin wanted to go to the left and Ken though it was to the right. As the story goes, Ken just told Kevin that he was going to just leave him there and go back without him. So after about 20 minutes of argueing they went to the right. 5 minutes later guess they were back at Kevins... at 6. Took them 3 hours or so to make it there and back.

Sunday woke up and started the drive back... not very fun!

Overall had a decent time... not one of the best weekends up there. But I would take an average weekend up there over a good weekend down here any day. So to Kevin, thanks as always for letting us come up, and maybe next we'll help you clean up. Quote from Ken on Kevin about cleaning up Sunday "Damn he was like a slave driver at a Nazi camp!"

From what I can remember Kevin always makes the cabin look about 5 times better than when we got there. I think that is the only time it gets cleaned, is when we are up there.

Thats about it for the weekend. Heading up there 2 more times this year so hopefully they will be as good or better.

Added some picks from the weekend on both "Kevins Cabin" page and also "2K2 pictures". Will update with stories later... enjoy the picks for now.

Just got back from Best Buy, picked up a new digital camera for this weekend. Look on monday afternoon for some new pics. Planning on returning it after I am done with it, someone called me cheap for doin that, but let me ask you this... would you spend $500 on something that you gonna only use a couple times... ummm yeah thats what I thought. Takn off for the dells tomorrow a.m. and should be drinking the first beer on the lake front at about 1 or so, depending on traffic. Should be a very good time, only 4 making the trip this time. Just looking forward to getting out of town... been alot of drama and un-needed b.s. last few weeks. Some of it was my own fault and some of it just happened. I want to stress one thing that I have said before on this. Some things on this web-site are pure crap... that means it has to do with nothing! So just read and enjoy. Its not meant to start shit, its meant to entertain and entertain only.

Last night went to circuit to get the camera originally and picked up an open box one... got back and noticed no power plug.. F!

But did pick up Harry Ass... oh I'm sorry... Harry Potter. When I was buying it the guy looked at me and said, "Oh, Harry Potter!" So I looked at him and nodded and said, "Yep". Was expecting either a crack about a 24 yr old buying it or something else. But dude just stared at me... what the hell was that? I felt like I needed to say something, but instead just stared at him and he just continued ringing me up. This of course was after about 25 minutes of him trying to ring up the open box camera. Not sure if he knew what he was doin'. He actually left for like 10 minutes with the camera just sitting on the counter... coulda just taken off with it, excpet Al was standing by the TV's watching the game. But I aint like that anyway. Well gotta get abck to work... 2 hours and 14 min till my weekend starts, and gotta make an important e-mail to someone. I'll elaborate on that maybe next week... depending on how it goes.

Have a good weekend and hopefully will be back on monday... if we arent locked up in the wisconsin prison system or anyhting...Later

First want to thank Al for the great BBQ at his place and soon to be my place of residency yesterday. It was the first big BBQ at his place since the huge pick-up on the ghetto grill. He had everything from some nice marinated chops to the old stand-bye brats'... NICE! Have to add that I was the main grill man and did a pretty damn good job with charcoal. Used to usn' mostly gas but think I am getting the hang of the whole grill thing. Actually had my job takn' away for a bit when I was tryn' to get the fire goin and boil the brats'. Next thing you know the brats' are split down the middle and not looking good. They tasted pretty damn good, I know that cuase people ate them! It took me a few tries with the chops but after charrn' the first one got the next ones down pat. The only bad part of bein' the grill man is that eaither one... you ain't eatn' cause you too busy... or you eatn' everything cause you got skills on the grill. The latter for myself. Had to leave early though because of that, think I had some of everything. And to top of the Q they had a water balloon fight while we all sat and watched while drinking some Kool-Aide nice!

Besides the grill out yesterday got to play some golf this weekend for the first time this year, excluding the January round. To get a better understanding of the whole friday night fiasco hit the link below to al's site and read on...

A nice 3 day week for myself, headn' up to Kevins' cabin on friday. Hopefully this warm weather will continue so we can bust out the raft, actually prolly won't matter if it warm out or not. Its kinda a tradition that when we get back form the bars we bust out the 2 man raft and try to get to the other side of the lake. One thing I learned though last year... Ken don't know how to row! On saturday when I was out with Ken and some of his friends at a party, Kens' g/f mentioned how you can judge a man on how he is in a canoe. Something about he's a good husband if he can control a canoe... well damn I must be something great 'cause I paddled my ass and ken's across the lake and back again. See what this weekend brings.

One more random thought... isn't it funny when a person knows something that another person doesn't think they know and they try acting like they dont know anything about it and can look you straight in the eye and then in a split second stab you in the back, but yet they are actually stabbing themself in the back without knowing it?

Ok, I hope I've confused you all... ok maybe a couple of you know what I'm saying... just hope it's the right person.

Bad Times

5/25/2K2
A saturday update... normally don't do these but for some reason felt like writing a little this evening. Probably because I am bored as hell. Feeling a little ill today because of last night. Ended up goin out for Sushi with some friends and then attempting to go bowling. Only problem was, we had no idea really where the bowling alley was. Drove around for a good 45 min in the western suburbs and then after we find it realize its closing in 30 minutes. To top that off we got lost trying to get back home. Realizing we are going east instead of west... and this of course is at about 2 a.m. Not a good place to be at 2 a.m. I must add. I think the thing that gave us the first impression we were going the wrong way is when we spotted a couple Chicago Police cars... not good times! So after driving around ALLOT! finnaly made it back to Evanston at about 3:30... not good times at all. Had a couple high comedy moments though during the long drives... did some car-aoke to Tony Rich project. Nice!
One more thing I wanted to add... the last couple days on here I have been just writing some random stuff because of the way the last couple days have been going. I learned alot though during this time and realized that some people are not exactly what they seem. But I guess that is what life is... a learning experience.

Have a good weekend all!

Hey cubbies 4 in a row!

5/24/2K2

Well I'm proud to say that I have made it at Aon for a whole year Whoo Hoo! Today was my one year anniversary, wow have things changed...

Some more random thoughts...

- Why is that a baseball manager wears a uniform and an NBA couch dresses like he's in GQ?

- "...umm... let me see, can I get a bowl of fruit cocktail and a glass of chilie..."

- Is Mike Piazza gay... or wait... who cares???

- Why does one bad statement hurt 100 times more than 100 good statements?

- Yes, things do happen for a reason, its just figuring out why that reason is.

- Why isn't bowling an olympic sport but curling is? Maybe because only overweight drunk americans excel in bowling.

- Life sometimes just likes to give you a swift kick in the ass but once in awhile it likes to just knock your ass completely out.

- I'm sorry!!!!

- Lakers -6.5 at home after losing game 2... sure bet?

- Brand new shirt at Banana Republic... $49.99, two months later... $9.99

- Why is it called burning a cd. Is the cd burner actually a small stove or is there a flame inside my computer?

- "I know she's going to leave my broken heart behind her..."

have a good weekend everyone!

5/23/2K2 Just have a few random thoughts to share... - Dont you hate when others quetion you and should be questioning themselves. -Cubs have won 4 out of there last 5 since Prior has been called up even though he has only pitched in one game -If you don't want to be mentioned on here don't interact with me then -Why do you always see everything clearer after it has passed you and not while it is happening to you - Why can't we all just get along? -Is everything in life a gamble... job security, love, driving home from work... so why is gambling frowned upon so much? -Do people intentionally act mean or do they not even know sometimes -Why does a double quarter pounder cost 3.89 and a quarter pounder cost 3.29 and a quarter pound double stack cost .99? -Why do we have daylight savings time, who is saving time? I still have to sit at work the same amount of time, Im not saving any time when we push the clocks back or forward. -Does everything in life happen to you for a reason?

5/22/2K2

First I want to apologize for not updating the last couple of days, been very busy here at Aon and Monday took a half-day. Felt like I was back in school, ended up meeting up with some friends and went out to lunch and did some nice afternoon drinking. Nothing like a few mid-day beers to kill the rest of your day, but luckily had nothing to do. Went out to the second game of the cubs game yesterday. Actually got to catch some of the first game, they lost 12-1. Woulda beena shutout but Crime Dog decides now would be a good time to hit a homerun, and not when they are actually in the game. They won the second game on a Sosa blast, dude hit it like 400 and some feet. The center fielder just stood ther and looked up. Thats gotta be the best feeling when you hit a jack so hard the outfielders just stand there and not even try to see if they got a beet on it. Thats earning respect.

Got the ticket from a fellow co-worker. She got 4 from her boss and she knew I was a big cubs fan so she asked me. Think there was maybe some other hidden interest there but don't think anything is happening on that end.

This past weekend was pretty busy, had the kick-off bbq at Al's on friday night. We picked up this big ass grill at KMart, they were closn so everything like 60% off. Saturday night headed out to wrigley area w/Ken and some of his friends. The normal there, drank.. drank and drank some more. Sunday had our first 12" softabll game. Damn that is alot different then 16". Dont think I hit the ball out of the infield. Got a walk though and scored on pure hussle. So gotta give credit for that one.

No games this week 'cause memorial day. Give my body time to heel, then next weekend heading up to Kevin's cabin up in the dells. Should be a party as always. If you wanna get an idea of it just check the section on my web site called Kevins Cabin.

Maybe go see Resident Evil at the dolla theatre tomorrow so maybe do a review on that. Last two shows we saw there have been crappy so hopefully this one will break the streak.

12 o' clock, time to see what for lunch.

Just a reminder to everyone... 4 months till my birthday. Been busy here at the wonderfull world of Aon. Working solo this week, which has been kinda good. Been keeping busy with all the work we've been getting and also my own personal stuff. Al has been working on his own record label, Rice Boy Records, so I've been trying to create some sort of logo and art work for cd labels and other other stuff. Look for his first release in the next couple of months with a tentative title "High Comedy."

What the hell is with this weather, a couple days ago it was like 75 and planning a cook-out for this friday and now its like 50 out and cloudy. Damn this Chicago spring is suckn' big time. Got the big softball weekend coming up, got a game saturday at 11 in grant park and then a double header at 9 sunday morning in orland. Kinda weird thing... where we are going to be playing Sunday is where I played little league about 12 years ago.

WARNING! If you havent watched Friends yet this week do not read cause I dont want to spoil for you... continue down a few lines to finish my update...

Watched the season finale of Friends last night... what is with the writers of that show. Why can't they just Ross and Rachael just hook up already. Why they gotta be messn' with everyone like this. First they have Rachael get pregnant by Ross, figure ok, here it is... they gonna finally hook up... NO! So now she has the kid and they are getting this feeling between them... and now Joey f's everything up again... damn that fool. And the sad thing is she said O.K. Just ok??? That is not a response when someone asks you to marry them... you "ok" like when someone asks, hey you want some of these fries... ok. Not... hey I'm on my knee and have a ring in front of you... ok. They just like f'n with everyone I think. Its like they are sitting around in there writers meetings and sayn', ok lets have Rachael and Ross finally get married... ok here's the scene. Then some assmunchn' writer says, wait how about if we have Joey find the ring and confuse everyone by proposing but not propposing to Rachael. What the F!!!!!!!!!

OK enough about friends, everyone can continue reading now.

Thats about it, playn some ball this weekend and hopefully watch the cubs remember what they are supposed to do on the field. Everyone have a great weekend and stay safe...

Wanted to do an update yesterday to review "Lord of the Rings" but work kept me from it. So here it is... it sucked!!!!!!!! Besides the main story being somewhat cool and the graphic element. The movie sucked ass! There are alot of people that I guess read the books about the Lord of the Rings, me however never really got into that wizard crap. Now the movie would of received a little better review from me if it actually had an ending to it. This movie just stopped... no final scene to make you say to yourself... ok that was the ending. This movie was more like... hey why are the credits rolling now, did I miss something? I guess there are 2 other movies that go after this one... but come on, it still needs some sort of ending right???

The whole movie experience Tuesday evening could of been a little bit better if the ride to the show wouldn't of turned out the way it did. Ended up goin to grab some dinner with a couple friends and one of there girlfriends. We leave dinner and begin our drive to the show, now before we get in the car I say to my friends g/f who is also driving "dont follow me cause I dont trust you." You see on the way to dinner I notice her eratic driving skills. Well, guess what, we are stopped at a stop sign and she is behind me. All of a sudden I feel this sudden thrust in the back of my car... yep.. she bumped into me. Now i'm on the phone at this time (no thats not a factor in the whole thing), the person I am on the phone with starts cracking up laughing as I am trying to figure ut what the hell happened... guess I woulda been doin the same if I was on the other end. And to make things even better, the person that is in the car with me thinks what just happened was pretty damn funny, once again... if I was in the apssenger seat, I would be laughing also. So we pull over and I get out and notice 2 very small scratches on the bumper. Guess it pays to have a good german made car! So between the fender bender and the crappy movie the night was not good. But the show only cost a buck and my car has little noticeable damage. So all in all not too bad.

One more thing about the movie, not sure why... but the cast sucked also. I don't know if that is how the story really goes, about how the 9 guys making the journey are supposed to be a bunch of punks or what. First of all you got like this 85 yr old wizard who gets his ass kicked by another bad ass wizard. then you have the main guy and his two buddies who are supposed to be some sort of midget people thing... yeah bunch of winners there. Then there are 2 guys that look like women... they deserve an ass kicking just for dressing the way they do. The last guy who seems to be the bad ass of the group is actually some short fat guy who probably couldn't move fast enotght to really fight. But in the end.... only one of them dies. Makes no sense whatso ever! My advice, dont waste your time, cause then you will be suckered in to going to go see the next two just so you know what the hell happens in the movie that doesnt end.

Thats about it, cubs are playing shitty and weather sucks!

5/14/2K2

After writing about the whole BK thing on Friday I actually got to experience a little of it Friday evening. Ken ended up coming up to Evanston to hit some bars. Well after doing our fare share of boozing, we started the journey home, by foot... so you know it was a good night. About half way back to my place Ken decided he was hungry. Not knowing alot about the Evanston night life I figured there would be some places to eat at 1:30 a.m. Wrong! Only place open that late... yep... BK! They open 24/7 up there. Only bad thing about that... they "are" the only place open that late. We waited in line about 20 min to get our food, so during that time we had split up 'cause there were two lines and one was moving faster than the other... you get the picture. So most of the 20 min. was spent trying to entertain myself. This includes, making fun of otehrs around me to strangers, trying to get Kens attention as he talked to a fellow frat guy(which included me trying to hit on him), and the rest of the time deciding if I wanted a shaq pac. Well the time finally came up and its our time to order, I just go with a basic burger and onion rings... bad call on the rings though... and of course, Ken had to order 2 tacos and a damn shaq pack... I couldnt of planned it any better. After I stop laughing cause now Ken has broken into the "Who is the man that can slam over any man.... SHAQ!" song we journey the rest of the way home. Make it back and ken starts with the tacos... comments "pretty good actually" and now into the shaq pac. A dead silence as Ken was digging in the bag for about what seemed like 10 min., he looks up and says... "they forgot my dipping sauce!" Now any other time this wouldnt of been funny, but due to the fact he was digging in a small bag that was empty except for napkins for about 5 minutes... it was high comedy. So besides the missing dipping sauce, the jury said the shaq pac was good. Coulda fooled me...

Rest of the weekend was just a bunch of driving around seeing family and then meeting up w/Ken again and Pete(kens friend and fellow fantasy baseball member). Highlight of the night, we are sitting by the bar and all of a sudden I smell this nasty burning smell. 5 minutes later everyone is smelling it and it seems to be coming from a vent just above us, people keep walking by and saying... damn something is burning. Now with my witty drunkeness I say to Ken, should I get on the bar and tell them its me and "I'm on fire". Ken looks at me half laughing and says yeah, lick your finger and touch your ass too. After much thought decide against it, instead for some reason every 2 min. I have to say that same line. Think Ken thought it lost its comedy effect after the 2nd time. Oh well. As far as the fire/smoke smell, they ended up calling the fire dept. and they couldnt find anything, so could of been an interesting story but no. Guess it was for the better.

Weekend ended on a slow note... just some mothers day festivities, nothing too exciting. A little quality family time and a drive back to evanston ended the weekend. Other than that not whole lot, cubs lose.. sox lose. Guess its gonna be a slow summer in chi-town. Some good news to report about baseball though, as most of you know I have a little gambling problem... well just recently it was brought back to the surface. Without getting into alot of detail, last night pulled off what was once thought impossible. Won a 4 team parlay. If you dont know what a parlay is, let me explain. You have to bet on 4 teams that you think will win. You lose though if one out of the four lose. So all four have to win for you to win. So this of course has a pretty nice pay off. OK that is my gambling story for the day, off to Fridays to go watch the cubbies... later

5/10/2K2

Another weekend upon us, and looks like a soggy one. After a decent week of weather we look forward to this... great!

Been busy at work so its been keeping me from updating my page... damn work!

One thing that I have been noticing lately is how Burger King has been pulling out these terrible promotions. Last week while driving threw a prodominintly hispanic neighborhood I noticed a BK and a sign in the window for tacos 2/.99. So I thought that it must be just because of the neighborhood, well I saw it a few more times in otehr neighborhoods... ok so this must be BK's new idea to get more people in. Who the hell who buy tacos from Burger King??? So thinking about that and other brilliant marketing campaings from BK, I came up with my list of worst ideas from BK.

- 2/.99 Tacos...why????

- The Chicken Whopper... doesn't BK already have like 2 or 3 chicaken sandwhiches already? OK was just on BK.com, they have 4 already. And one of them is a chicken tenders sandwhich. What the hell is that???

- The Veggie Burger... why would you go get a veggie burger from BK. I guess those are the same people that get a Double Whopper w/cheese and get a diet coke with it.

- The Shaq Pack... some burger on sour dough bread. I think they had this like 3 months ago and called it something else. I think hey just had bought too much sour dough bread and realized they needed to get rid of it soon.

- Toll House Cookies... the banner on the web site says baked fresh daily coookies. By who??? Do you really think some dude is in the back baking cookies at 6 a.m. when they open? Riiiight!

They really need a better marketing dept. I think, its like they are trying to sabotage the company.

Thats about it in my exciting life, cubs are playn like shit again, loosing to the brew crew 9-4 yesterday. OUCH!

OK, time for lunch... have a good weekend.

later...

5/7/2K2

Hey two wins in a row for the cubbies. Not only did they win last night but they won it in the most dramatic way you can... a 9th inning homerun! To add to the joyous occasion of the Cubs victory, the sox lost also in the 9th inning.

This month have to work 9:30 - 6. Kinda sucks but trying to make the best of it, actually got up this morning and went and worked out. Yes actually got up before I had to, and did physical activity. Going to try to do that a couple times a week. One of the bad things about starting work later is now I have to deal with a certain person earlier than before. When I would work at 8:30 I would wake up and do my own thing, but now its later, certain people are now up and have to deal with there shit early in the morning. Its kinda funny, cause I used to be the one all crabby in the a.m. but now since my body is used to getting up early... yes I know.. getting old!...I'm pretty awake by 7 am.

Anyway, only another month or so and it will all be over!

whoo hoo!

One more thing...I predict that the cubs will continue this winning trend for awhile... the reason I say this is because a certain article of clothing has been returned to me. And like Adam Sandler said in "The Wedding Singer"... "take off my Van Halen shirt before you make them break up."

5/6/2K2

After a few days of not writing I am once again back. Had a busy weekend, saw "Spiderman", played softabll, watched some NBA and broke into a house. Yeah that is correct. Sunday afternoon had to break into a house because someone forgot the keys. I will not mention any names to protect the guilty party, but they know who they are. But to sum it up, did the old credit card and pop the lock trick. You always see it done on t.v. and in movies but before Sunday didn't think it actually worked. Well, it did. Pulled out the trusty Discover Platinum card and slid it betweem the door jam and the door and about 2 sec. later the door popped open. This was a good and a bad thing really. Cause it makes you wonder if someone really wanted to get into this house before they could of.

Besides the breaking and entering had a relaxing Sunday afternoon. Ended up goin by my dad's for awhile and sat outside and enjoyed the weather. Made it home in time to play volleyball. Not sure if that was a good idea or not since I was still pretty sore from softball the day before.

Read this morning that "Spiderman" broke the record for opening weekend. Something like $114 million. WOW! Was supposed to go see it on Friday but ended up going on Saturday thinking that it would be a little slower on Saturday, wrong. Went to the show about 20 to 7 for the 7:00 show. Bad idea, sold out of course. So got the tix for the 7:45 show and stood in line for a good 20 min. Good thing we waited cause it got packed real quick. Normally go to the later shows and realized saturday why I do that. Damn kids were annoying as hell before the show started and a little during it. My advice, go after about 9 and it will be a little more enjoyable.

Overall I thought it was a good flic. Graphics were incredible, story line was ok, nothing great. But it is hard on the first one just to get the story line going. That whole thing about learning how he became a spider and everything. Kinda boring but didnt last that long. Didn't really like the ending however. They totally set it up for a sequal, but I guess they got the next 2 already in the works. So overally gotta give it a thumbs up! Definitly a DVD buy!

Side note... cubbies got a couple wins this weekend!

later...

5/1/2K2

A new month begins today. As I think back to last month I have to say that it went pretty good.

- Started off with a nice 2nd place win in the Aon NCAA Basketball Pool. Very nice!

- Not only did joining the pool make me some decent $, it brought a new friend into my life. Gotta like that.

- Baseball season started, which I am not sure if that was a good thing or not for the cubs, since I don't think they realized that the season has started already.

- The first of two softball leagues that I joined started... not on the best team in the world but actually enjoyed myself.

And I think that is about it... actually that doesnt seem like that great of a month, but hey, still have my job!

Went last night to go see "Blackhawk Down". Now normally I enjoy action/war movies. But I have to say I did not enjoy this one at all. I think because you get to see how messed up certain people really are in life. And also how America sometimes gets into things they either one, don't belong in or two don't really go into it fully understanding the situation. Before I get on a tangent here I'll stop myself... back to the movie. Yes the movie had some great action scenes in it, but it also had some really bad scenes in it which I don't think they needed to include. I will talk about one in particular that really won't give away any info on the plot of the movie that isn't already known. One of the soldiers got wounded in the leg, his main artery got severed, so he is pretty much bleeding to death. One of the medics says the only way we can save hime is to clamp the artery, which just happened to retract back into the leg... not sure on the medical exactness of this but I guess it could happen. So what this guy has to do is stick his hand in the other guys wound and try to grab the artery and clamp it. I'll stop there for everyone to use there imaginations and see what I saw on the big screen. I almost got up because the Gyros I had for dinner was unsure if it liked my stomach anymore.

This had to be the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in a movie period. For that sceen alone I would never ever see this movie again!

Anyway... cubs lose, weather is crappy and work is broing...

Didn't have a chance yesterday to do a weekend update, actually was busy at work. To sum up the weekend, lost! After catching the gambling bug from Al on Friday I soon lost it. Took a hard loss Friday night as New Jersey missed the spread by one point, the sad part is they had a chance to cover with about .8 sec left but some dumb-ass on N.J. bricked two free throws... ouch! Saturday didnt fair any better. Took the under on the Orlando game and was robbed when the ref disallowed a 3 pointer by Baron Davis that would of ended the game and kept the score under 187.5. But no, the ref waived it off, and game went into overtime, which made the score go way over the over/under. Finally won on the Utah game... whoo hoo! Felt confident and took Detroit in Toronto goin for the sweep. Detroit ended up loosing by like 10... not a good day!
Sunday decided maybe to change my luck and do a little baseball. Took Houston over the Braves... 8-1 win... sweet! Went into the Laker game up $25 for the day... not too shabby. Lakers -2 in Portland. In my mind that is a lock... well another nailbighter and .3 sec left with R-I-K on the line with the Lakers up 1. Ok R-I-K all you have to do is make 1. I'll take the push... no biggie right...WRONG! After missing the first one he intentionally missed the 2nd one. It was like a dagger being driven into my heart.. how the f could an N.B.A. star miss a fee throw... well it happened twice in one weekend to me. After that I decided I am done with this crap for awhile.
Besides doin a little gambling just hung out, nothing too exciting. Had our first softball game in grant park with the Chicago Catholic Association... It was actually pretty cool playing in Grant Park.
Glad to also mention Al made it back from Vegas still alive. Guess it was a pretty rough day yesterday for him, did the red-eye in and then straight to work... not good times.
Check out his site, he did a run down on his trip, some high comedy.

The weekend is uppon us, and I have gottn' the gambling bug from Al. He is now on his way to Veggggaaaaaaas! Could of gone with but thought otherwise. He had asked me last week and I almost had the ticket booked but held off to think about it. And somehow I decided it would be better to take a pass. So instead I gave Al a few NBA playoff games to wager on for me tomorrow. After discussing this we came up with a 4 game parlay, which I believe is a 10-1 payoff. SWEET!
So I guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow all day, sittn' watching NBA playoffs... NBA, its FAAAANTASTIC!
I think thats about all there will be to do tomorrow since its supposed to rain all night tonite and then into tomorrow. Was supposed to have our opening day for the softball league, but looks like its gonna be a rainout... oh well, guess I'll just have to sleep in tomorrow.
Don't really have any concrete party plans this weekend, except one for saturday night. Kevin decided to get everyone together to make some plans for this summer up to his cabin. Should be a good time gettn' together with the boys from Northern. Always a good time... unless we get locked out somehwere.
Well 30 min left and need to do some work before I leave. Everyone have a good weekend and dtay safe... Later!
And to AL... good luck!

After a day off of writing, back on. Went out to Wrigley last night to see an ass whoopn' handed out by the Giants. It was 9-0 in the 4th inning! Um yeah... go cubs! Needless to say we left after the 6th inning. Added some pics on the 2k2 pic page from the game. Had a pretty decent time though, had sweet seats. About 12 rows behind the san fran dugout. Very Nice! Got the hook up from one of Carmels friends who just happened to be going to the game also. Too bad I didn't know this earlier or I would't of had to buy the crappy seats from my mom's co-worker. Oh well... still had a good time. Had a couple beers, some hot dogs and some nachos. What else could you ask for. And if you ever feel like you haven't experienced everything at Wrigley, just head into the mens bathroom and let it out in one of there world famous urinal troffs. Very classy! High Comedy of the evening, there was a foul ball hit just about 3 or so rows behind us and about 6 seats to the left. Well this guy catches it and no one saw him catch it, so everyone around him were diving under the seats thinking it was still there, and the dude that caught it is standing there holding the ball just laughing. I wish they could of got that on tape, bunch of drunk fools diving under a seat looking for a ball. Doesnt get better than this!
Good news about tonite, Cubs won't lose... raining out... just prolonging the agony that we know as Cubs fans. Wait till next year...

Another weekend come and gone. Did the usual stuff for the most part. Friday went out after work with some co-workers for a drink. Saturday headed out to the south side to finish up the pipe project. Which I must add sucked big time! It didn't take a whole lot of time, on my part at least. Headed out there after softball practice, sidenote... softball went pretty good, should be a fun time...got to the grandparents about 10:45 or so and most of the work was already done. Pretty good planning on my part I must add, so I thought. My part was pretty much just getting into the attic, which is about 3 feet high at its highest point and down from there. But to get into the attic you need to crawl into this 2' x 2' hole and then turn your body 90 degrees to lift yourself into the actual attic. Not good times. After about 5 minutes of contorting my body finally made it up. Not easy for a 6' 4" body. My job while up there was to try to fit a pipe onto another pipe while my dad put it through the roof. After about 10 minutes of struggling with it we finally got it on. Now by this time its about 85+degrees in the attic with little or no air circulation. Really bad times... but we did get it in for the most part. While up there I had some time waiting for my dad to get on the roof, some thoughts that came through my mind... reminded me alot of panic room up there. The only light I could see from is the little circular hole for the pipe. If someone was to torture someone that would be a good place to put them, because without a flashlight, you cant see JACK! Good thing I'm not clostrophobic... ok enough demented thoughts. After that headed out to orland to get ready for the evening...
Sunday just chilled, stopped over by al's to catch some of the early NBA playoff game and head to Best Buy to pick up some DVD's. Disappointing trip however, came up empty handed. Nothing really good out at this point, kinda the slow season for new releases I think.
Watched alot of basketball and baseball sunday, pretty sad ass weekend for the beloved cubs. But heading out there anyway tomorrow night for the first night game of the season, should be a fun time.
Time to get some work done... I guess

Not a whole hell lot goin' on today. Actually pretty boring. We had an unpresidented 3 people call in sick today at work. Which really is pretty good, its nice and quiet here. Only thing on my plate today... get updates on ESPN.Com for the cubbies game at 2:20. Sounds like fun huh? Might be takn' a trip out to vegas next weekend. Nothing confirmed yet but Al is goin out there with some people from his work and they got a room comped at Paris. SWEET! Me in Vegas... good times my friend, good times. Just waiting to hear if its a go or not. Actually a little scraed, I dont trust myself there, especially with Al goin'...could be very dangerous.
Well its 2:30, gotta go get the update for the cubbies. Later...

First off I want to apologize for yesterdays entry. I didn't want to freak anyone out, no I am not on crack or any other drug.... that I know of at least. Ok now that is out if the way, damn is it freakn' hot out. Went to good ol' target on my lunch and broke a sweat comn' back. This just isn't right. Actually looking forward to this wekeend when its supposed to cool off. Gotta head off to the grandparents Saturday to help my dad fix some pipe goin to the roof. Still have no clue what we have to do except that one of us has to crawl into the attic and the other has to be on the roof. Either way it doesnt sound like fun.
Yesterday during my daily surfing on Ebay I stumbled acroos this sweet bobblehead doll(pictured below) of Moochi "Moochie Balls" Norris. Dudes got some nappy hair, but looks cool. You know you big time when they make a bobble out of you and put a damn fro on it. NICE! Doll is high comedy.
Not much else, just go out and enjoy the weather, cause this weekend we will be pulln' the jackets back out and puttn' the golf clubs away for awhile.
One more thing... f'n cubs loose last night by a touchdown. Yes 7 points! They score 6 in the first inning then just blow the game. Made me sick watchn' it. And since I got some sickness with the cubs I actually sat and watched the majority of it. I think I need some help.

Well as most people know already, I didn't win the $325 million as hoped. Only good thing about someone finally winning it is, I don't have to waste anymore money trying to win. Just recently I have been put in a situation that before now have never been on this side of. I dont really wish to discuss the actual events but just wanted to say something about the saying "the grass is not always greener on the other side".
Before I was put in "this situation" I used to believe that statement to the fullest. Everytime I needed to make a decision in life I would always rethink it by that simple sentence. And most of the time it proved to be right, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Well my friends, that isn't always the case, well it isnt so far at least. It still could turn out to be some brown grass on the other side of the fence, but I am so far acroos the fence I can't even remember what that other grass felt like. From what I can rememebr the grass on the other side was pretty comfortable and looked pretty green. But everytime I looked at it I used to think, is this how green the grass gets? Shouldn't it be greener, do I need to do something to make it greener or should it just turn green itself? After a long time of looking at the "greenish grass" I started looking over the fence at the "greener grass". Finally I made the decision to test the other grass, just to see how green it really is. Well after analyzing the other grass I have come to the conclusion that, the grass should be greener than what I was used to, the grass should be more comfortable than I was used to and one big thing, you should actually want to show off your grass to other people to show them just how green your grass is. Right now I am loving this side of the fence. I actually think that a few months ago I was actually over on this side of the fence but for some reason went back. I didn't think it was right to be on this side of the fence, I didn't know what to expect on this side, so I went back to the comfortable grass and thought it was the right thing to do. But after that point I used to always think about how it was to have the greener grass. Since I have been on this side of the fence more I have noticed others on this side and they have helped me enjoy this side of the fence. So to those who are this side of the fence with me I want to say thanks, and for those who want to see if the grass is greener on the other side, I say go for it... just hopefully you dont fall when you are jumping the fence.
later...

NO UPDATE TODAY
TOO CRABBY AND HOT!

Tomorrow I will be back on how I plan on spending my $325 million.

80+ Degrees today. That is just redirkulous! Last week it was like 40 out. Actually got to enjoy the weather yesterday, ventured out to the crappy stadium known as Comisky Park with Kerry. Main reason of going was... Magglio Ordonez bobblehead doll! And it was supposed to be like 75+ out. Had a decent time, sox got there ars's kicked so that made it even better. Wrote a little more in my bonus section.
Had a pretty busy weekend besides that. Drove back to Orland on Friday and went to see Panic Room. Pretty good suspense thriller but expected more. Had alot of "unintentional comedy" though so that is always a bonus. Saturday hit the batting cages again, really gettn' my swing down, just hopefully when the leagues start I can hit as good as I am in the cages. Saturday night went to the Lincoln Park area to see a little production by the Galileo Players, or something like that. Really wasn't sure what to expect, but was very good. Give it a thumbs up! Grabbed some grub after that and a few drinks, had a good time.
Got back on the workout track sunday, went to the gym about 6 or so. Place was so dead, but I guess when its like 75 degrees outside not many people are going to go lift. Proud of myself that I got in a good workout.
Ok out to lunch now, goin to hit Mc D's, they got a tax day special, .39 cheeseburgers. Cant go wrong there!

In lue of it beeing Friday I had to put on one of Homers most famous lines today. No real set plans as of yet this weekend, except going back to Orland tonite and getting my oil changed and dentist appointment after that on saturday. I was having a converstion with someone yesterday, I will not mention there name to protect the innocent... you know who you are though... they were questioning why I go back to the south burbs to get my oil changed and go to the dentist. First of all, I get free oil changes when I take it back to the dealership.. enough said. And as far as the dentist, well... don't really feel like trying to find a dentist out here. For one thing I am not sure how long I will be residing on the Northside and two, my dentist uses Nitris whenever you have any work done. End of story!
This weather is finally I think staying with us. It was so warm last night after v-ball still. Walked out in just shorts and a t and felt fine. Maybe get the clubs out this weekend... probably not but its nice to know that if I wanted to I could. Actually am going to try to hit the batting cages later on saturday. Went twice this week so far, trying to get ready for the 2 softball leagues I joined. Haven't played any type of organized baseball/softball in like 8 years. Hope I still got it... wait a minute who am I kidding, of course I still got it!
On that note... everyone have a good weekend and remember one thing... lets have some fun out there, ok?
later...

Hope everyone is apreciating the beautiful weather we are experiencing today. But I think most people are like me, sitting in a damn office looking out the window, wondering how nice it would be to be either on the golf course, at Wrigley today or just out taking a walk. Well I know of someone who is doing that today. My sister Kerry just happens to be off this week and back in Chicago. And yes, she keeps rubbing it in that she is enjoying the weather. I think the more I talk about it the frustrated I am getting... ok onto other business.
Al and I tried breaking our streak last night. The streak I am referring to is the "ugly waitress at Hooters" streak. As long as I can rememeber whenever we head out to our local Hooters we always, and I mean always seem to get the ugliest waitress in the place. I think if they actually were to have one guy be a waiter for a day, we would probably get him. Its not that bad of a thing really its just an observation that we have made, and its not like if you get a "hot" waitress you are actually going to hit on her or anything. For some reason last night we also decided we needed to order 50 wings for the two of us. Normally 50 wings can feed 3 of us when we go but for some reason we felt it necessary to order the 50 piece. So needless to say we walked out of there with about 30 of them. And I think half of them are sitting by Al's garbage this morning, I guess no leftovers for the Lau household. Well back to staring out the window...

4/9/2K2

After an extended weekend I am back. Had a good weekend overall. Got to see some decent baseball, well maybe not decent but hey it was at Wrigley so ya gotta give extra points for that and it was the first two games played there this season. Friday had a good time in the bleachers, nothing like waiting in line for 30 min. at a baseball game to take a piss, seems like a life-time! More on that in the section "Extra Thoughts". Saturday had a good time with my dad and my grandpa. First time my grandpa has really been out since his quad-bi-pass. He actually had a hot dog... nice!

Saturday night went out to Schaumberg to go out with a friend from work...

Then sunday came, started out ok, went grocery shopping and did some laundry, I know excitement at its highest. Then the real fun began, heated up some leftovers for lunch and packed it in for a nice relaxing day of sports on the ol' couch. Wrong... all I need to say is STOMACH FLU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

24 hours later still in the same spot, on the couch, ended up calling into work Monday to recover. Damn day-time t.v. sucks the big one my friend. I remember back in school there was at least an episode of "The Cosby Show" or "Growing Pains" to watch, but yesterday couldnt find shit. Ended up watching "Goodfellas". One of my top 10 movies of all time. Some classic scenes in that movie, like when they are doing the walk-through in the Copa Cabana and Ray Liotta tips every person like $20 a piece. Just gettn in the door he spent like a grand. Then they get to there table and get a bottle of Dom from another mob boss across the room, very nice! Another good scene was when Deniro is choking the "hair piece guy" and his hair piece falls off. Liotta just starts laughing his ass off, you kinda think maybe that was supposed to happen but then maybe it just kinda happened as they were filming it. High Comdey!

That was probably the highlight of the whole day, pretty sad, but when you dont leave the apt. for a whole 48 hours you don't have a whole lot to do.

But am feeln' alot better today so all is good and hey, cubbies are winning!
Also... updated pics.

4/4/2K2 Afternoon Update
Just wanted to say a few words before I take off for my nice 3 day weekend. Goin to the games on Friday and Saturday to hopefully see a couple wins. As long as this damn snow stops I think it'll be good time either way. Supposed to meet up with other friends after the game to do some post-game drinking. I am thinking its gonna be alittle like St. Patty's day.... nice!
Well eveyone have a good weekend and I hope to have some good stories for Monday.
And as always... GO CUBBIES!

4/4/2K2
First off I would like to wish my mom a Happy Birthday!
Now that that is covered, get down to some other really good news... CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN!!!!
Handed the Reds an ass-whoopn' last night. Game started off just like Monday's game but soon turned for the better. Hundley finally woke up after hibernating for the last 2 years and Sosa hit his first of many this year. Staying on the subject of baseball, anyone catch the sports this morning or late last night? Freakn Barry Bonds hit two more homeruns!!! What the "F" is goin on there. He has been up a total of 8 times this year and has had 3 walks 4 homeruns and a pop-out. He is on pace to hit 314 homeruns this year, not that that will happen, but to have that pace after two games ...DAAAAAMMMMNNNNN!!!!!!
Another happy note, sox lost last night. Blew a 3 run lead in the ninth, good job sox bull-pen, ha haaa.
15 hours till I am sititng in the Bleachers, whoo hoo!

4/3/2K2
Just got done doing some spring clean-up on the site. Just put things away and some things easier to find. Good news to report, cubbies didn't lose yesterday and the sox lost. It was a good day, actually cubs didn't play, buut who's counting. Am proud to say my fantasy baseball team, "The Big Units" are whoopn some ass. If you coudn't guess, Randy Johnson was my 1st pick so that is where the name came from.
Still can't believe I am goin to opening day in a couple days, should be a good time and hopefully will see a cubs win! This damn weather better warm up though or it is gonna be a cold ass day in the Bleachers.
Might be buying Bears season tix... not exactly sure why, but its only a couple bills so no biggie, right? I guess.
Saw a commercial last night for Burger King's new Veggie Burger. Veggie Burger from BK? What the hell are those exec's smokn? Why would you get one of those at BK? I guess the same people that are going to buy that are the same ones who go in there and get a double whopper w/cheese and a large fry, but get a diet coke. Like that is gonna help. When I worked at Walgreens people used to come in and buy like 4 candy bars and a diet coke, why even waste your time with the diet coke? Now that is high comedy!
Lunch time for me, been tryn to eat healthier since my granpa had his quad-bi-pass, so today brought a turkey sandwich w/letti and tomoato and a salad. Very nice...

4/2/2K2

After a nice long weekend made it back into work. Got some good news though, ended up winning 2nd place in the work Tourny pool, very nice. Had a good 3 days off, got to visit some family and friends and got to witness poissibly one of the funniest things I have seen in awhile. Kerry gettn' drunk off her ass. Now when I say off her ass, I cannot stress how drunk she actually got! Words cannot describe the unintentional comedy that was happning, it was like a good episode of the Simpsons, you didnt want to turn away because you thought you might miss something. But it all ended all too soon, the alcohol caught up. It then turned into a bad episode of 3's Company. You wanted to trun away but you just couldn't. OK enough about Kerry, rest of the weekend was relaxing. Got to finally watch the beloved cubbies, even though they lost its still opening day, cant get any better than that!

Gotta go finish some work before I head out for the day.

GO CUBBIES!!!!!
